my favourite - russian squares
190'C approx. 15-20minutes
250g butter
1 cup suagr
2tbsp syrup
2 cups raisins
pinch of salt
Melt the above together, do not let the mixture boil.
Add 2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
2tsp baking powder
Mix well, pour into a pan and bake.
Ice while hot!
Icing:
I cup icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp boiling water
(I double the icing mixture)
